A layer of carbon atoms organised in a hexagonal lattice, one atom thick, is known as graphene. Graphene is the fundamental component of graphite, which is used, among other things, in pencil tips. However, on its own, graphene is a fascinating substance with a variety of astounding capabilities, earning it the moniker "wonder material" time and time again. At one atom thick, graphene is the thinnest substance known to man.
It is also tremendously strong about 200 times stronger than steel. Additionally, graphene exhibits intriguing light absorption properties in addition to being a superior heat and electrical conductor. With its limitless potential for integration into virtually every industry, it is undoubtedly a material with the power to transform the world.
