CT colonography, also known as virtual colonoscopy, uses computed tomography (CT) imaging to create detailed images of the colon. The procedure requires bowel preparation and may take up to 30 minutes to complete. CT colonography is less invasive than colonoscopy and has a similar sensitivity for detecting colorectal cancer. However, CT colonography may miss small polyps, and any polyps found must be removed with colonoscopy. Other screening methods include stool DNA tests, which check for genetic changes in the stool that may indicate the presence of colorectal cancer, and capsule endoscopy, which uses a pill-sized camera to take pictures of the colon. These methods are still being evaluated and are not widely used in clinical practice. There are several key factors that are hampering the Colorectal Cancer Screening Market. These include a lack of awareness, low adoption rates, and concerns about the accuracy and invasiveness of screening methods.
